What our guests say…

"What an amazing day. George (Our guide) took care of everything. I never knew that so much wine culture existed in our area. It was nice to be introduced to everything “local.” I have great memories from the wine tour, and every time I open a bottle of local wine, I will remember this great day!" Ashley Welch
What a great blog! I found it very humorous and I especially enjoyed the forensic shout-out. I forwarded it out to everyone and I'm sure they enjoyed it, too. We had a great time... and now we're stocked w/ wine for a while! I will definitely recommend you to anyone who inquires about a wine tour. Thanks again! Michelle
Thanks again George for the great day! We had a blast and hopefully we can do it again. This Paesano enjoyed the vino that southwest Idaho had to offer. Awesome tour and a whole lot of fun! Vinnie Perretta
I was one of the Bridesmaids and I just have to say how WONDERFUL George was! He took really good care of us and made sure that the Bride just enjoyed her day. The whole weekend was a hit but our afternoon of Wine Touring was a favorite! Thank you George for making Serena’s last weekend with the girls a weekend she will always remember;-) Cheers! *KERI Keri Murray

3 Horse Ranch

At the very edges of the Snake River Appellation sits a vineyard. Nestled in the Eagle Foothills, Gary and Martha Cunningham have carved a little piece ofheaven and are growing some of the valley’s best grapes. 3 Horse Ranch is an estate vineyard, and is transforming a stretch of ground from old grazing land to a beautiful green patch filled with row after row of vines. Best of all, they are certified 100% organic by the State of Idaho Department of Agriculture.

Gary and Martha started planting grapes in 2003, and each year they plant another 10 acres. Their first releases came in 2008 with a Viognier. Recently they’ve won two bronze medals at the Northwest Wine Summit in Oregon in May of 2009; not bad for a first release. The 2008 Estate Grown Chardonnay is a testament to the organic purity of their fruit, and the 2008 Reserve Rose´ combines Merlot and a Grenache is rich and perfect for a lazy afternoon lunch on the patio, or a fine meal. They also offer a fabulous 2007 Estate Grown Syrah, a Reserve Claret, a Reserve Cab/Merlot Blend,  a 2008 Estate Grown Pinot Gris, a 2008 Estate Grown Roussanne, and an Estate Grown Roussanne/Viognier. For purchase visit their online store.

The Cinningham’s work hard to grow the best grapes possible. Organic farming is a bit more difficult, but it’s worth the effort. Martha says, “We live in the vineyard, and I dont’ want my family exposed to the chemicals. It’s better for us and it’s better for our wine.”

Take a trip with us, or on your own out to their tasting room. For directions and tasing room info, see their website. You’ll be happy you did.

Cheers and Good Cheer.
